Mindfulness Based Body Awareness Group
The primary intention of practicing mindfulness is to encourage you to learn how to be present in your life with a nonjudgmental awareness, which is the foundation for developing positive health behaviors. This promotes both physical and emotional resilience and a sense of well-being that can be effectively cultivated and relied upon across the life span.
The group will consist of an 8-week practice to build and reinforce mindfulness skills as well as creating more awareness of our bodies and our physical responses to stressful events.
Together we will learn an approach to healing using curiosity, awareness of physical well-being and use of compassion for ourselves and others in order to feel better overall. This will be taught and practiced as specific skills and each session will build on acquired knowledge.
This small group will be starting in February 2018 or as soon as a group forms and will meet weekly at the Hazel Counseling Center for 8 weeks for 90 minutes each session.
If interested in the group, inform your therapist and a follow up call will be made by Teresa Pilacke, MA, RMHCI the therapist who will be facilitating the group, to answer any questions you may have. If you are new to the Hazel Counseling Center, please contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
